Old meets new: 2010 Boss 302R Mustang meets up with 1970 Boss 302, Parnelli Jones

The new Boss 302R Mustang made its competition debut this weekend, but there was enough time for the new racecar to meet up with one of its ancestors, a 1970 Boss 302, as well as legendary driver Parnelli Jones. You can see photos of the gathering below.

Boss 302R Mustang finishes fourth in Grand-Am debut

The 2010 Boss 302R made its competition debut today at the Fresh From Florida 200 at Daytona International Speedway. The top Mustang came from JBS Motorsports Boss 302R, driven by James Gue and Bret Seafuse who finished in fourth place. The remaining Boss 302R Mustang didn’t fare quite as well, with the remaining three Boss 302Rs finishing in 49th, 50th and 76th.

2011 Mustang Daytona 500 Pace Car sells for $330,000 at Barrett-Jackson

One of the stars of last night’s Barrett-Jackson auction was the 2011 Ford Mustang Daytona 500 Pace Car, which sold for $330,000. This Mustang is the first 2011 Mustang available for sale to the public, and will be the first Mustang to pace the Daytona 500 in forty years. The winning bidder also received a trip to the race, access to Ford’s hospitality center, a tour of the pits, and a lap on track with Carl Edwards. Hurst Mustang Convertible Pace Car auctioned off for charity at Barrett-Jackson

In past years at Barrett-Jackson Hurst Performance Vehicles has worked with the Woodhouse Auto Family to raise money for Victory Junction, a camp for children with serious medical conditions. This year Hurst and Woodhouse auctioned off a Mustang Convertible that served as the pace car for the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge series. The car is equipped with a Roush supercharger, Eibach suspension system, Magnaflow exhaust, Hurst 20-inch wheels and more. The entire winning bid of $120,000 will benefit the charity.

Video: On board with the Lethal Performance 2010 Shelby GT500 as it runs a 9.66 @ 146 mph

Lethal Performance of Wellington, FL has built some pretty fast Mustangs in the past, and their latest is this 2010 GT500 that has been fitted with Whipple’s new 4.0-liter supercharger. Lethal had the cameras rolling when they took the car to the drag strip, including one strapped to the side of the car for some pretty spectacular footage. Check out the video below.

2011 Ford Mustang GT announced as official Daytona 500 pace car

Ford’s new 2011 Mustang GT will serve as the Official Pace Car at this year’s 52nd Daytona 500, the first time in 40 years a Ford vehicle has paced NASCAR’s biggest and most prestigious race.
Under the hood of the Mustang GT Glass Roof Coupe will be Ford’s all-new 5.0-liter V-8, which will be available to customers in dealer showrooms this spring.
