Classic Recreations reveals first GT500CR in Las Vegas

Less than four months after custom coachbuilder Classic Recreations announced the Officially-Licensed 1967 Shelby G.T.500CR continuation car program at the 2009 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the first prototype made its debut in the same city but with a very different setting.

Video: Twin-Turbo Shelby GT500 puts out 884 rwhp and 876 rwtq on the dyno

Houston-based Fastlane, Inc loves to turbochargers on just about anything, and one of their latest creations is a twin-turbo Shelby GT500. They recently strapped it to a dyno, and the result was 884 horsepower and 876 lb-ft torque a the rear wheels. You can watch the dyno run in the video below.

SVT Performance Package ups the ante for the 2011 Shelby GT500

The new 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 has a surprise in store for true performance enthusiasts – an optional SVT Performance Package. One lap around the racetrack, and drivers will feel the difference.
Data show the 2011 coupe with the SVT Performance Package is 3.0 seconds faster per lap than the 2010 Shelby GT500 on a 2.3-mile test track. Cars with the optional package will be able to pull 1.0 lateral g, with stopping distances improved by 7 percent versus the base 2011 Shelby.
