Jack Roush is a man who knows how to coax horsepower from an engine. ROUSH® has become an automotive powerhouse based on this simple premise, and he couldn’t wait to get his hands, and his engineering team, on the new Ford 5.0L engine. The end result, and the car fans of the ROUSH Mustang have been waiting for, is the 2011 ROUSH 5XR™ Mustang with “more power” under the hood thanks to the factory-installed ROUSHcharger.
Make no mistake, the 2011 ROUSH 5XR is a runner. With the R2300 ROUSHcharger installed the …
Saleen hasn’t officially released pricing on its 2011 S302 Mustang, but when we saw one last weekend at the Mustangs at Queen Mary Show we made sure to sneak a look at the window sticker. So how much does it cost to take home Saleen’s latest creation? You’ll need $54,990, or $20,305 above the price of a premium Mustang GT (plus $1,750 for enclosed shipping). In comparison, a Roush Stage 2 Mustang costs an extra $7,560 (although it lacks many of the Saleen’s standard features and a similarly equipped model …

The big aftermarket news last week was the testing of the new supercharger systems for the 2011 Mustang 5.0 at the drag strip. First VMP Tuning ran low 11s in a Roush-powered Mustang and then Lethal Performance followed that with a near identical time with a 2011 Mustang with the FRPP/Whipple supercharger system.
This week we’re seeing more 2011 Mustangs with forced-induction hit the drag strip, but this time its via turbocharging. Fastlane of Houston, TX took their R&D Mustang to the track for the first time for some shakedown runs …

The Mustang Club of America held its annual West Coast show today at the Airtel Plaza Hotel in Van Nuys, CA, hosted by the Mustang Owners Club of California. The event, which is directly across from the Van Nuys airport, isn’t nearly as large as mega shows in Southern California like Fabulous Fords at Knotts or Mustangs at the Queen Mary, but it makes up for it with and intimate environment and a high quality selection of cars.
Classic Mustangs definitely make up most of the attendees, and it’s a fantastic …
Motor Trend magazine got the very first chance to test out the 2011 Shelby GT350 prototype that was unveiled at Barrett-Jackson back in January, and the results are nothing short of impressive. With its supercharged 5.0-liter V8 putting out 525 horsepower, the Shelby was able to reach 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and pass the quarter mile mark in just 12.0 seconds flat at 121 mph. Those are the best numbers the magazine has ever achieved with Ford’s pony car, and they consequently named the GT350 “the fastest production Mustang …
Ford has officially released a TSB (10-19-4) for 2011 Mustang GTs with the 6-speed manual transmission regarding clutch problems. The TSB was issued following reports from owners who experienced “clutch stayout” during high rpm shifts, meaning the clutch would stay on the floor even after the gear was engaged and the clutch was released. The TSB affects 2011 Mustangs built on or before April 25, 2010.
Here is Ford’s official description of the issue:
Some 2011 Mustangs built on or before 4/25/2010 with a manual transmission and low mileage, typically 10,000 miles …
The S197 Mustang has been very successful in both national and international road racing competitions, winning championships in Grand-Am’s Sports Car Challenge, SCCA’s World Challenge, and the FIA GT4 European Cup. The 2011 Mustang is now looking to be a formidable race car as well with a win at NASA’s American Iron national championship at Miller Motorsports Park this past weekend, driven by Dean Martin.
The 2011 Mustang’s first road racing championship was captured by Rehagen Racing of Livonia, Michigan who also won the GS class championship in the KONI Sports Car Challenge last year. …
