Video: First Roush-supercharged 2011 Mustang hits the drag strip, runs low 11s
Without a doubt the aftermarket has embraced the 2011 Mustang quicker than anyone expected. There are already dozens of new parts available for the car, and tuners quickly achieved ten second and nine second time slips, all without forced induction. Now that superchargers are arriving, however, it should be an all new game.
Roush recently released details about its new supercharger tuner kit for the 2011 Mustang using the RoushCharger TVS2300 blower, and while none have been delivered to customers quite yet, VMP Tuning got their hands on one and has already installed it in an otherwise stock 2011 Mustang GT equipped with an automatic transmission and 3.15 gears. They wanted to see what the car could do at the track, so they fitted a set 18″ drag radials and headed to the drag strip at Orlando Speed World. Running just five pounds of boost, the car clicked off a 12.0 @ 119 followed up by an 11.4 @ 122. By the end of the day the Roush-supercharged 2011 Mustang had netted a best time of 11.2 seconds @ 125 mph. You can watch the video below.
