Fastlane turbocharged 2011 Ford Mustang GT

The big aftermarket news last week was the testing of the new supercharger systems for the 2011 Mustang 5.0 at the drag strip. First VMP Tuning ran low 11s in a Roush-powered Mustang and then Lethal Performance followed that with a near identical time with a 2011 Mustang with the FRPP/Whipple supercharger system.

This week we’re seeing more 2011 Mustangs with forced-induction hit the drag strip, but this time its via turbocharging. Fastlane of Houston, TX took their R&D Mustang to the track for the first time for some shakedown runs and came away with some incredible numbers. Their second pass resulted in a time slip of 10.4 seconds @ 133 mph, making it one of the fastest 2011 Mustangs out there. Especially impressive is that the car still has the stock suspension. Fastlane doesn’t say how much horsepower their Mustang was putting out at the time, only that the turbocharger was producing 14 pounds of boost. Considering the car put down 543 rwhp and 521 rwtq at 6 psi, it had to be making considerably more than that.

Fastlane believes that there’s still plenty of room for improvement, and we’re looking forward to more videos and hopefully a nine second time slip while they fine tune the car. Until then, check out their 10 second run in the video below.
