Evolution Performance 2011 Mustang Wheel Stand

Mustangs from all over the country headed to Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, KY this last weekend for the NMRA finals, one of which is Evolution Performance’s 2011 Mustang race car. The company has fitted the car with a built motor from L&M Race Engines and a ProCharger F1C and was in search of an eight second time slip. They nearly succeeded the first day, running an impressive 9.1 @ 151 mph.

The next attempt didn’t result in a faster time slip, but it was spectacular nonetheless. During launch the 2011 Mustang hooked up (too) well, and did a huge wheel stand, eventually coming down and breaking the driver side shock and both motor mount support brackets. Unfortunately the car was unable to compete the rest of the weekend, but it made for a great video. Have a look for yourself below.
