SEMA Preview: MagnaCharger to debut new supercharger system for the 2011 Mustang
MagnaCharger is well known for their roots-style supercharger kits for all types of American muscle cars. Their supercharger system for the 2005+ Mustang added 125 horsepower and 125 lb-ft torque and came with a standard 3-year warranty. It looks like the company has been busy with the new 2011 Mustang GT as well, and has provided a sneak peak of the new supercharger system ahead of its debut at SEMA next week. The supercharger will likely be based around the new TVS 2300 blower, also used in Roush’s supercharger system, that will provide more power and efficiency than the MP112 supercharger used on last generation 4.6-liter V8. MagnaCharger’s R&D car, a base automatic Mustang GT with 3.15:1 gears, produced 340 horsepower and 308 lb-ft torque at the rear wheels, and the company will surely be looking to significantly increase those numbers.
MagnaCharger is keeping quiet about exact details and power ratings, but we won’t have long to find out. We’ll have more details for you when the supercharger is officially unveiled in Las Vegas next week. Until then, check out a few photos of the upcoming supercharger system below.
