You’ve probably never heard of Hess Motorsports, but that’s because the company is brand new. They have started out with quite a bang, though, with this attention-getting widebody Mustang on display at the SEMA Show. The looks alone are impressive enough with a full APR body kit and the same radar-deflecting paint used on the million dollar Lamborghini Reventon, but things get even better underneath the skin. Twin Garrett turbochargers have been added to the fully built 4.6-liter V8, and with 16 pounds of boost the engine now produces 722 rear wheel horsepower and 685 lb-ft torque. The car also features a full roll cage, AP Racing brakes front and rear, TEIN EDFC electronically-adjustable suspension system, BMR sway bars and k-member, and a Griggs Racing watts-link in the rear. All that power is directed through a fully built rear end with a Torsion T2R 31-spline differential and Superior chromoly axles. Inside Hess Motorsports has installed Cobra racing seats, Sparco steering wheel and a custom-built aluminum rear seat delete.

Hess Motorsports General Manager Eric Cheney tells us that this widebody Mustang will be much more than just a show car. “We are going to run it in time attack, but it’s going to be street prepared so it still has to have a stereo and other working components. We are actually going to go out and beat the hell out of it.”
