Video: Hot Rod Magazine test drives the 2011 Shelby GT500 Super Snake
The guys over at Hot Rod Magazine were able to convince Shelby to hand over the keys of a new 2011 Shelby GT500 Super Snake for a few days, and they did what anyone in Southern California would do with a fun car – take it to Mulholland Drive. Fortunately for Mustang fans, Hot Rod also took video footage of their outing. Editor Rob Kinnan starts off by explaining a few of the features of the car, but doesn’t waste any time in getting behind the wheel for a spirited drive through some of the best driving roads near Los Angeles. “It drives like a stock GT500 except when you really stand on it, and then it’s evil,” he says, while barely blinking to keep the 750 horsepower monster on the road. “It’s a nice driving, brutally fast car.”
The video is definitely worth a watch, and it has some great on-board shots during the drive on Mulholland. The audio is great as well, and you can hear the fantastic sound of the exhaust and the Whipple supercharger whining from beneath the vented hood. Check it out below:
