Video: V8TV features a turbocharged 1965 Mustang
The guys over at V8 TV recently posted a video feature on a really nice ’65 Mustang owned by Brett Evans of Outlaw Turbo Motorsports. He envisioned the car having a “drag touring look” and we think he pulled it off really well. “I wanted to make a little bit of power and still be able to drive it around,” says Evans, who considers “little bit of power” to be 800 horsepower. Under the hood is a 427ci Windsor V8 with a Dart block, Comp cams, TFS high port heads, an Eagle forged bottom end with 8:1 compression, and a Precision 76mm turbocharger putting out 15 psi of boost.
In addition to taking the Mustang to car shows and cruises Evans has done some racing as well with impressive results. In his very first full pass down the track he ran a 10.09 @ 132 mph. With some fine tuning Evans thinks he can run in the 9.6 range with low 9′s possible with more boost.
You can learn more about the car in the video below.
