ProCharger 2011 Mustang V6 SuperchargerThe 2011 Mustang GT has received plenty of attention from the aftermarket since its launch early last year. Companies have unveiled dozens of products for the new 5.0L V8, and owners can take their pick of superchargers, exhaust systems, intake systems and more.

With 305 horsepower the new Mustang V6 has plenty of performance as well, but the aftermarket hasn’t given it nearly as much attention. However, with many of the companies having already developed products for the Mustang GT, we fully expect the V6 model to start getting some love very soon.

For instance, ProCharger announced today that they are currently developing a supercharger system for the 2011+ Mustang V6. Their centrifugal supercharger system for the Mustang GT adds 140 horsepower to the 5.0L V8, and the V6 kit promises to produce even more impressive performance. ProCharger estimates that the 3.7L V6 will produce 475 horsepower with their P-1SC-1 supercharger producing 8 psi of boost. Here’s the official word from ProCharger’s blog:

“This 170+ HP bolt on is approaching production and a ProCharged 3.7L V-6 Mustang could just be the surprise performance value of the year! Imagine, Mustang V6 fuel economy and insurance rates, now with Camaro SS, HEMI Challenger and even 5.0 Mustang GT stomping performance.

Stay tuned… pricing and on-sale date will be announced very soon.”
