Video: 1965 Mustang Fastback takes on Porsches at Road Atlanta

What happens when you thrown a 1965 Mustang Fastback into a mix of race-prepped Porsche Caymans on a racetrack? Not what you’d expect. We don’t exactly know why this Mustang was on track during a practice session of the Porsche Cayman Interseries at Road Atlanta last year, but it definitely makes for some entertaining video. At the beginning you expect the Mustang to get passed fairly quickly, but the driver manages to keep the duo of pursuing Porsches behind him while and even passes several other cars in the process. …

Ford issues TSB for 2011+ Mustangs to resolve cold shifting problems

For the most part the 2011 Mustang has shown to be pretty reliable and well built, with no recalls and only a couple TSBs from Ford. However, many owners have complained about shifting problems with the 6-speed manual while the transmission is still cold, and Ford has finally addressed the issue by issuing TSB 11-3-18. According to Ford, the problem came down to the viscosity of the transmission fluid in cold weather and can be simply fixed by swapping out the full synthetic fluid with dual clutch transmission fluid. Any …

Video: Stock 2012 Mustang Boss 302 runs 11.7 @ 117 mph

We knew the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 was fast in a straight line after driving it both on the street and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and our gut feeling was backed up after Motor Trend put up some impressive test numbers – 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 12.3 seconds @ 115.8 mph. We’re guessing that those numbers are just about as good as they get with the Boss 302 in stock form, but what happens if you strap on a set of drag radials to …

Video: 2012 Roush RS3 Mustang laps Laguna Seca

Roush has continued its tease of the upcoming 2012 RS3 Mustang with the release of two videos showing the car lapping Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Roush doesn’t provide any lap times for the RS3, but with 540 horsepower and a finely tuned suspension we’d suspect that they would be on par with the 2011 Shelby GT500.
The videos are short and sweet, and show the RS3 ripping down the front straight as well as navigating through turn three. Fortunately the sound is fantastic, so be sure to turn up your speakers …

Video: Jay Leno’s Garage invites in Lee Iacocca and his 45th Anniversary Mustang

Jay Leno’s Garage usually features some pretty special cars, and the latest episode of the web series is no exception. The video starts up with Leno and Iacocca chatting it up about the history of the Mustang, and it’s obvious that Jay is a little giddy sitting next to one of his childhood idols. Interestingly, Iacocca admits he never expected the Mustang to be the success that it has been and never believed it would last more than 45 years.
The two soon turn their attention to the 45th Anniversary Silver …
