Aftermarket tuners already replicating TracKey’s lopey idle

Bama Custom Tuning Ghost Cam

One of the coolest features of the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 is the TracKey, which when activated, alters nearly 400 parameters of the car and adds features such as launch control, a lopey idle and eliminating the skip shift. It’s a feature that’s never been seen before in the industry, and we have no doubt that we’ll be seeing more products like it in the future either from manufacturers or the aftermarket. In fact, in our interview with Jeff Seaman, a Mustang powertrain engineer, he predicted that the aftermarket would soon follow their lead in offering similar products. “We’ve already heard rumblings from the aftermarket of wanting to immediately catch up,” he told us.

That time is just about here, as AmericanMuscle.com and Bama Custom Tuning are almost set to release a new product called “Ghost Cams”. The altered tune essentially replicates the sound of aftermarket cams at idle, similar to the feature in the TracKey, using the variable cam timing feature of the Mustang’s Coyote 50.L V8. You can listen to what the Ghost Cams tune sounds like in the video below.
