2012 Roush Stage 3 Mustang

DETROIT MUSCLE | REDEFINED is the vision that set the direction for the design team at ROUSH Performance this year. The ROUSH brand has long been synonymous with high horsepower, performance handling and an aggressive body style. And, for the 2012 Mustang model year, ROUSH is introducing some game-changing enhancements that will “Redefine” their heritage of high performance and stylish appearance.

ROUSH Performance proudly introduces the new 2012 ROUSH Stage 3 performance Mustang. The 5.0L 4-valve DOHC TiVCT power-plant has received clearance for takeoff with the addition of the R2300 ROUSHcharger, forcefeeding up to 12psi of inter-cooled energy to the already robust Coyote engine. The ROUSHcharger supercharger induction system increases the base horsepower from 412HP to an impressive 540HP and 465 ft/lbs of torque. To enjoy the ride, ROUSH Stage 3 (RS3) vehicle owners enjoy peace of mind with ROUSH’s 3 year/36,000 mile powertrain warranty.

This year, the 2012 ROUSH Stage 3 brings to the streets an all new graphics and appearance package. A front fascia blackout gives the nose of the RS3 a classic and menacing look, while the rear decklid blackout features the imprinted signature of motorsports legend Jack Roush. ROUSH Performance is now offering a wide palette of color options for the RS3’s appearance and curb appeal. This allows for personal customization of three different aesthetic elements of the car – 8 choices for the base vehicle color, 6 stripe colors, and 6 stripe accent colors. Together, these options offer an impressive 288 unique color combinations.

“In addition to the powerful ROUSH powertrain and tuned suspension, we’re really excited about the new graphics and design options,” says Gary Jurick, VP/GM of ROUSH Performance. “The ‘Redefined’ graphics introduce new metallic colors utilizing automotive paint-grade materials. The result is a breathtakingly deep tone to the RS3’s graphics. We’re now providing our ROUSH consumers a very broad spectrum of graphics and color combinations to consider for their 2012 RS3 Mustang.”

The color customization doesn’t stop with the Stage 3’s body paint and graphics. ROUSH is now offering two paint options for their massive brake calipers. The popular ‘red’ caliper will continue to be a color option for the hefty 4-piston, 14-inch rotor halters. Or, consider the new ‘black’ painted 4-piston brake caliper to go along with your wheel selection. Speaking of wheels, the ROUSH Stage 3 can be upgraded to the all new 20” Hyper-Black Wheels or the popular 20” Chrome Wheels. Vehicle Configurator at http://www.roushperformance.com/2012-stage3-mustang-configurator.shtml.

With 540 hard-charging ponies let loose by the ROUSHcharger, ultra highperformance Cooper RS3 tires wrap the Stage 3’s wheels to aid in acceleration, cornering, and for safely bringing the car back down to a stop. The suspension package includes ROUSH front struts, rear shocks, front and rear springs, front stabilizer bars and jounce bumpers, all engineered to work in perfect harmony with the big brakes and sticky Cooper RS3 tires. The RS3 also offers a Competition Brake Upgrade to the ROUSH 6-piston caliper (red color only), and an option to upgrade to ROUSH’s Competition Suspension (double adjustable coil-overs) for driver’s that want race car-like performance through corners and turns.

The RS3 comes fully-loaded with ROUSH body style components including a front fascia with driving lights, chin spoiler, side rocker splitters, rear valance, rear deck-lid spoiler, and newly designed square exhaust tips that fit elegantly into the ROUSH rear valance cutouts. Interior enhancements include newly appointed ROUSH leather seating, four-piece performance pedals, ROUSH illuminated sill plates, and an interior ROUSH Stage 3 badge.
A newly designed shifter ball, in either black or white, showcases the ROUSH “Square R” logo to indicate the ‘reverse’ gear. In addition, the shifter ball’s retaining nut has been redesigned to recess up into the shifter ball itself,
providing an ergonomic and smooth feel as you work through the gears. As is standard with all new ROUSH Stage 3 Mustangs, the RS3 will come with the anti-wheel hop kit installed during the assembly process. This ROUSH
Performance product (No. 401788) is an outstanding addition to any 2005-2012 Ford Mustang GT suspension. The ROUSHcharged 2012 RS3 vehicle is currently not available for sale into California and other states requiring CARB emissions standards.

The estimated retail price for the typically equipped 2012 ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang is around $59,945. Actual final retail pricing will vary based on options selected. The RS3 is backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty and is currently available with a 6-speed manual transmission only. The 2012 ROUSH Stage 3 is expected to start appearing on ROUSH Authorized Ford Dealer lots by the end of April 2011.
