Spy Photo: Is this the 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 or Shelby GT500?

2013 Ford Mustang Spy Photo

Spy photographers have caught what appears to be a 2013 Ford Mustang roaming the streets of Dearborn, and Inside Line believes that the camouflaged pony car could either be the next Shelby GT500 or Boss 302. The prototype has some features of both cars – the overall shape of the hood and grille are most definitely from the current GT500, while the driving light blanks look similar to those in the Boss 302. Some of the styling features, though, are all new. The hood features two longitudinal intakes instead of the single horizontal intake on the existing GT500, and the lower intake is significantly smaller than the current one.

Whether this Mustang prototype is the 2013 Shelby GT500, Boss 302 or something else, we should find out relatively soon. Ford should unveil the revised 2013 Mustang before the end of the year, perhaps at the L.A. Auto Show in November.

    I don’t understand why people think the 2013 MUSTANG is going ti be the ” ALL NEW REDESIGNED NEXT GEN MUSTANG”.

    THE 2014 ( FOURTEEN ) Mustang is the NEXT GENERATION MUSTANG.

    I don’t understand why people think that 2014 will be a new platform. They usually switch platforms the year AFTER an anniversery (ex. 2009, 2004…)

    I say GT500 based on the huge meats in the back and what sems to be a inward concave near the front of the hood for heat extractor vents I’m guessing..

    The intakes on the hood remind me of the 03-04 Cobras. 2014 will be the new platform, it’s been stated by the head of design for it that the Mustang will be all new for 2014.

    Buyers would like to see an option to the 2014 1/2 ,, check a box and give us a supercharged 7 or 9 lb option from the factory with a stronger bottom end to handle the extra power. Not a shelby option just a 2.3 on a 5.0
