EAA AirVenture and Ford have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity in the past few years by selling one-off Mustangs to the highest bidder, and this year was no exception with yesterday’s auction of the Blue Angels Mustang. The car commanded a high bid of $400,000, playing a large part of the $2.2 million dollars raised at the charity event. The winner also received a Blue Angels flight helmet signed by the current flight team.

The Carroll Shelby Foundation announced the winner of its 2011 Win-A-Shelby Raffle during the 2nd Annual Barrett-Jackson Orange County Auction at the OC Fair & Events Center in Costa Mesa, Calif. Shelby enthusiast William Munn of Maritez, Calif., won the coveted 2011 GT350 on Sunday, June 26, adding a treasure to his garage. Jack Roush Jr. and Billy Johnson combined to score their third victory of the season in the No. 61 Roush Performance Ford Mustang Boss 302R, winning the B+ Foundation Heroes 200 at New Jersey Motorsports Park in a race with temperatures reaching 99 degrees. It was their second consecutive dominant victory at the 2.25-mile, 12-turn Thunderbolt Raceway. Roush started third and took the lead on Lap 15.
