2013 Mustang Boss 302 to get more tech including SYNC

During our time in the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 we were enjoying the high-revving 5.0-liter V8 and precise handling of the adjustable suspension so much that we didn’t even once wish for more features in the interior. We have heard from several owners, however, who wouldn’t mind more technology added to the Boss 302′s no-frills cockpit. It looks like they will be getting their wish, as a leaked list of features shows that more tech will be available on the 2013 Boss 302 including SYNC. Also new for 2013 will …

New Product: 2012 Boss 302 camshafts for the 2011+ Mustang 5.0

For those owners of the 2011+ Mustang GT who want more performance from the 5.0-liter V8, Ford Racing has now made available the same camshafts that are used in the 2012 Mustang Boss 302. The high performance cams have a higher lift and duration  than the stock units – 13mm lift/290° duration vs 12mm/260° stock.
Several other changes or upgrades, however,  are necessary however,  to use the Boss 302 cams. The stock cylinder heads need to be modified for rocker arm clearance, or a set of Boss 302 cylinder heads  (part …

Ford Mustangs continued their domination in the GTS class of the World Challenge race series, taking five of the six podium spots at the double header event at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA this past weekend. Official 2013 Mustang Boss 302 colors leaked?

Last year SPEED TV aired a documentary on the development of the 2012 Mustang Boss 302, and a few short clips showing the inside of one of Ford’s design studios revealed the possible colors and styling of the 2013 Boss 302.  The design more closely resembles that of the 1970 Boss 302 model, just as the 2012 model takes its styling cues from the 1969 Boss 302. Instead of the C-stripe on the 2012, the side stripe slants vertically up over the fender where they form triple …

Photo Gallery: Mustang Alley at the 2011 Woodward Dream Cruise

Every year for the Woodward Dream Cruise Ford takes over 9 Mile Road and turns it into Mustang Alley. This year literally hundreds of Mustangs were registered to attend, including one from every single year the Mustang has been produced. In addition to the cars, Ford Racing put on a display of current crate engines available from the FRPP catalog, and the ‘Mustang Garage’ was set up where Ford Racing technicians would install performance parts on late model Mustangs.
Unfortunately we couldn’t attend this year’s Woodward Dream Cruise since we were …

Spy Photos: 2013 Mustang spotted on the streets of Dearborn

If our sources are correct the 2013 Ford Mustang should make its debut at the L.A. Auto Show with revised styling and a bump in horsepower. It’s understandable, then, that Ford would have pre-production carsout on the streets of Detroit testing the upcoming changes. A forum member over at TheMustangSource.com spotted one of those prototypes recently, and was able to snap some photos of the car in action.
Unlike the car that was caught testing back in April, this prototype features much more covering that conceals the entire lower portion of …

Photo Gallery: Shelby Mustangs at the 2011 Monterey Motorsports Reunion

Earlier this week we showed you the Trans-Am Mustangs of the 2011 Monterey Motorsports Reunion. You might have had your fill of vintage Boss 302 photos, but those weren’t the only Ford pony cars out at Laguna Seca this past weekend. Race group 7A, 1963-1966 GT Cars over 2500cc, featured nine Mustangs, most of which were 1965-1966 Shelby GT350s, competing with the Shelby Cobras, Chevrolet Corvettes and Sunbeam Tigers. While perhaps not as famous as the Boss 302s in Trans-Am, the GT350 was and still is a fantastic competitor on …
