AEM Mustang V6 Cold Air Intake

For the most part the Mustang GT and Shelby GT500 get the majority of the attention when it comes to aftermarket parts, but thankfully many companies are starting to offer upgrades for the Mustang V6 as well. The latest is this cold air intake system from AEM featuring their patented Dryflow air filter and a direct bolt-on design. Also included in the system is a mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube finished in gray (part #21-8123DC) or polished (21-8123DP), an air box with removable top, heavy duty 3/16″ brackets and double-wound hose clamps.

AEM says that its intake flows more air than the stock system and has the dyno numbers to prove it. Their testing shows that the AEM intake provides a max gain of six horsepower @ 3500 rpm and 9 lb-ft torque @ 3400 rpm. Interestingly, the AEM intake doesn’t provide any benefit at higher rpms, with the dyno showing identical horsepower  and a loss of  two lb-ft torque @ 7000 rpm.

AEM backs up the intake for the Mustang V6 with a limited lifetime warranty. Retail pricing is listed at $499.00.
