SEMA 2011: “Last Ride” Mustang tribute to Joe Gosinski
Earlier this year we told you about a very unique project called the “Last Ride”, a Mustang being built as a dedication to the late Joe Gosinski, the owner of Chicane Sport Tuning in Torrance, CA, who was found murdered in his shop last year to the dismay of the Mustang community. The project car is the idea of Sal Valdez, a customer and close friend to Gosinski, who wanted to build one last car with the Chicane name. At the time Valdez had a long way to go on the project and was soliciting the help of the Mustang community to get the project going.
Fast forward to today, and Valdez has the “Last Ride” Mustang proudly on display at the Doug Thorley Headers booth here at SEMA. Thanks to various aftermarket companies including Saleen, Trufiber, Vossen Wheels, Hellwig Motorsports, Vortech Superchargers, Corbeau and more, the “Last Ride” Mustang was finished and ready for its debut at SEMA. We have to say the car looks incredible in person – credit goes to Matt Bernal for the design and build – and there are plenty of cool details like the painted graphics (no decals here) and the custom Chicane logos. We weren’t the only ones that liked the car, as it was awarded a Mother’s Choice Award for design.
Valdez says that the car is mostly complete, but has plans for a few additional upgrades including a rear seat delete kit, a full roll cage, and eventually forged internals for the engine so that he can turn up the boost on the Vortech supercharger system.
