There are few SEMA projects that have made an impression on us as much as Classic Design Concepts’ 1967 Flashback Mustang. The stunning fastback debuted in Las Vegas in 2007, taking home Ford’s Best of Show and Outstanding Achievement in Design. Starting with a Dynacorn steel body, CDC stuffed the car with modern tech like a Shelby GT500′s supercharged 5.4-liter V8, Tremec 6-speed transmission, custom four-link rear suspension, 9-inch rear end, Wilwood brakes and more. The interior is just as impressive, featuring a vintage look combined with modern conveniences like …

When Ford launched the 2013 Mustang online customizer back in June, they announced that they would be giving away Mustangs to four lucky owners exactly how they designed them online. The third and latest customized Mustang has now been spoken for, going to Michael Corley, a police officer from Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.
How Ford delivered Corley’s custom Mustang is a story in itself, with the town’s police chief, Chris Atkins, playing a part. Both he and Corley were supposed to be going to “test ddrive new police pursuit vehicles” when a call …

Owners of the new Shelby GT500 looking to swap out their stock exhaust system have quite a few options, the latest being from Ford Racing Performance Parts. FRPP has announced a new upgraded exhaust system with sport mufflers for the 2013+ Shelby GT500, part number M-5230-MSVTLB. Featuring the same quad-tip design as the stock mufflers, the system is constructed of T304 stainless steel and mandrel-bent tubing and provides a louder, throatier note than the factory units. The polished tips are also embossed with the Ford Racing logo. Unfortunately for California …

Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for the 2013 Mustang V6, citing a glitch that fails to keep the “Check Engine” light on after the first driving cycle when set off by a failure with the Electronic Throttle Control as required by On-Board Diagnostic (OBD-II) regulations. The problem, officially classified as an emission recall, affects Mustang V6 models produced between October 12, 2011 and September 26, 2012. Letters are currently scheduled to be sent out to owners by February 28, and dealers have been instructed to repair any affected …

Before Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction started last week we told you about a custom 2013 Shelby GT500 that would be given away by SPEED TV as part of their Hagerty Fantasy Bid Competition. All you needed to do to get a chance at winning the car was simply enter the contest, and SPEED would randomly pick a winner from the entrants. The contest has since come and gone, but not before we tracked the car down in the auction tent and snapped some photos of it.
Built by the Ice Nine Group …

Last month we reported that Shelby had launched a new widebody kit for the 2005-2009 Mustang, allowing owners to add an extra six inches to the rear and three inches to the front of their cars. The kit includes front and rear fenders constructed of high-quality fiberglass, 20×10 front and 20×13 rear wheels and 265/35/R20 front and 345/35/R20 rear tires. In total, the package will set you back $17,995.
At the time we only had a handful of pictures of the widebody package, but now we’re happy to say that we …

Earlier this month we told you about a rare 1965 Shelby GT350R going up for auction, the second time in less than six months that one of the rare vintage Mustang race cars has come up for sale. However, unlike the previous GT350R, which was sold by RM Auctions back in August in Monterey for an incredible $990,000, this latest car failed to meet its reserve price. The pre-auction estimate on the car was between $750,000 and $950,000, so the high bid of $730,000 wasn’t enough to convince the current …

Barrett-Jackson’s 2013 Scottsdale auction has officially wrapped up, and for fans of the Ford Mustang it was one of the best in the event’s history. Literally dozens of incredible Mustangs crossed the block, both vintage and late model, many well into the six figure range. Highlighting the cars we’ve featured over the last few days are the two charity cars from Ford – a custom white 2013 Shelby GT500 and the one-off 2013 Shelby GT500 Cobra tribute car, high-dollar vintage muscle like the 1/4 million dollar 1969 Boss 429, survivor …

Our last featured Mustang from the 2013 Barrett-Jackson auction is the famous “Producer” 1965 Mustang built by the Ring Brothers. We first saw this stunning machine at the SEMA show in 2011, and like other cars built by the company, we were completely smitten with the incredible craftsmanship and quality of the build. We weren’t the only ones – after SEMA, Producer went on to win the Goodguys “Street Machine of the Year” award. Those credentials added up to a final selling price of $286,000, the second highest Mustang of …
