The doors have opened to the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, and over the next several days we will be bringing you all the latest Ford Mustang news from custom project cars to the newest products for both classic and modern Mustangs. Check back often as we’ll be updating this page regularly with new updates.

Ring Brothers 1965 Ford Mustang ‘Blizzard’

We look forward to the Ring Brothers’ incredible builds every year at SEMA, and they managed to meet our high expectations once again with this custom 1965 Mustang Fastback nicknamed Blizzard. The highlight is undoubtedly under the hood where a Wegner Automotive 427ci NASCAR V8 resides, pumping 710 horsepower through a Bowler 5-speed transmission and 9-inch rear end. The Mustang rides on a complete suspension setup from Detroit Engineering…

RestoMod Store 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback

You might recognize this bright green 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback as we wrote it about earlier this summer after it debuted at the Goodguys 16th PPG Nationals where it won the Builders Choice award. Thankfully the car has made it out to SEMA so we could see it ourselves and share some more photos with you. Built by the RestoMod Store in Independence, MO, the car is slathered in Snakeskin Green paint and features custom fabricated bodywork…

Ryan Venturine’s 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback

This spectacular 1965 Mustang Fastback owned by Ryan Venturine and built by Scott’s Hotrods n’ Customs of Oxnard, CA was easily one our favorites of the 2013 SEMA Show, as it ticked off every box for a well done restomod. The modified body panels have all been custom-fabricated out of steel – nothing was done in fiberglass – and the subtly chopped roof (1.25 inches) and stretched rear quarter panels give the car a truly unique look. Justin Padfield, the shop’s…

Creations n’ Chrome Top Notch Mustang

Creations n’ Chrome Top Notch Mustang made quite a splash at SEMA last year, wowing with its supercharged Ford Racing Aluminator crate engine, lightweight carbon fiber bodywork and chrome blue paint. The over-the-top Fox Body returned to Las Vegas once again for 2013, this time with a few updates. “There have been several changes to the car aesthetically and mechanically,” said Gary Watson, owner of Creations n’ Chrome. Top Notch now…

Hollywood Hot Rods 2014 Ford Mustang Convertible

Of all the Mustangs in the Ford booth making their debut at the SEMA Show, this custom creation built by Hollywood Hot Rods was on the top of our list to check out. The Burbank, CA based shop went all out on the 2014 Mustang Convertible, with more than 400 hours going into creating the hand-fabricated metal body panels and aluminum lift-off roof. “We really wanted to take the customization of this Mustang to the next level,” said Troy Ladd, owner of Hollywood…

Bojix Design 2014 Ford Mustang

Bojix Design debuted their incredible 2013 Ford Mustang at the SEMA Show last year, and now the company has proven that it wasn’t just a one-hit-wonder with this stunning 2014 Mustang. Just like last year it stands out with a bright paint job, a custom BASF orange with black and white trim, matched with a 3dCarbon body kit with fender flares and a Bojix Design proprietary rear fascia with exhaust outlets. Under the hood is ProCharger’s new i-1…

Manny Galvan’s 1,000 Horsepower 2013 Shelby GT500 Widebody

If there was a competition to see what Ford Mustang made the most horsepower at SEMA, Manny Galvan’s 2013 Shelby GT500 would easily come in first place by a significant margin. The stock supercharger has been removed from the 5.8L V8, and in its place a Kenne Bell 3.6L liquid-cooled twin-screw good for 906 horsepower and 889 lb-ft torque at the rear wheels. That’s well over 1,000 horsepower at the flywheel. Galvan’s GT500 has plenty of other…

Galpin Auto Sports 2013 Shelby GT500 Widebody

Galpin Auto Sports first showed off their widebody kit for the Ford Mustang at SEMA in 2010, and since then the Southern California customizers have shown off numerous versions since. Their latest is this 2013 Shelby GT500 you see here, painted in the classic Shelby livery of Guardsman Blue with Wimbledon White racing stripes. The blue theme continues on the inside of the car with a fully custom leather interior that covers nearly every inch of the cockpit…

HyperStangs Hellanor Mustang

One of the coolest late model Ford Mustangs at the SEMA Show was actually outside the convention center. Nicknamed “Hellanor”, the car is one of a series of specialty Mustangs built by HyperStangs, the performance division of Rich Ford in Albuquerque, NM. Starting with a stock 2014 Mustang GT, Hyperstangs started off by installing Hellion’s eliminator twin-turbo system good for up to 800 horsepower. A set of Tokico DA struts and shocks came next…

Ring Brothers Carbon Fiber 1965-1966 Mustang

One of the coolest Ford Mustangs at this year’s SEMA Show wasn’t even a complete Mustang. In addition to debuting their fabulous 1965 Mustang ‘Blizzard’, the Ring Brothers also announced that they will be offering carbon fiber body components for the 1965-1966 Mustang. To demonstrate they brought out one of their upcoming builds clad in bare carbon fiber from the rear decklid to the roof. The lightweight body panels can be bonded to an original Mustang…

TCI Engineering 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback

We almost missed this stunning 1967 Mustang Fastback at SEMA as it was hiding outside of the Las Vegas Convention Center tucked away under the Magnaflow tent, but we’re glad we got to see it. Built by Total Cost Involved (TCI) Engineering of Ontario, CA, this custom Mustang has been modified in almost every way imaginable. The bulging hood hides a Windsor-based 427ci V8 with 580 horsepower and 580 lb-ft torque mated to a Tremec T56 Magnum…

Nitto Tire 2014 Ford Mustang

Nitto Tire debuted their 2014 Ford Mustang at the Ford booth at SEMA today, highlighted by a custom BASF red paint accented with Jet Black stripes. This Mustang is a serious performer, though, with a slew of Ford Racing parts under the hood including a Cobra Jet intake manifold, 65mm billet throttle body and air intake. A set of Steeda adjustable coilovers, front and rear sway bar and an adjustable panhard bar provide improved handling, and…

Ice Nine 2014 Shelby GT500 Convertible

Ice Nine 2014 Shelby GT500 ConvertibleWe don’t see too many custom Shelby GT500s at SEMA, but the Ice Nine Group is an exception with their 2014 GT500 Convertible. The drop-top has a menacing look thanks to custom Pearl Black paint complimented by a carbon fiber hood and accessories as well as a custom carbon fiber fender widened to allow for the extra wide Forgiato wheels. The interior stands out thanks to Ferrari Red leather seats and upholstery, a custom rear seat…

APR 2012 Ford Mustang Widebody

APR Performance has officially debuted their 2012 Ford Mustang at the SEMA Show featuring the company’s new 10-piece widebody kit for the 2010-2014 Mustang. The body kit has been designed from the ground up widening the bodywork by 50mm on each side to allow for larger wheels and tires front and rear. The kit also includes APR’s track-proven carbon fiber aero parts including their front splitter, GT-250 wing and rear diffuser…

Classic Design Concepts ‘Bad Penny’ Mustang

Classic Design Concepts Bad Penny MustangThe ‘Bad Penny’ Mustang by Classic Design Concepts is one of the stars of the Ford booth here at the SEMA Show, and it’s no surprise given CDC’s history with creating custom Mustangs. The car is showing off many of the company’s latest products, like the upper grille, hood accents or side splitter, all with a black and copper theme that can be found throughout both the exterior and interior. Ford Racing played a large role with the car as well, providing…

Steeda Q450 Enforcer Mustang

Steeda Q450 Enforcer MustangLast year at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas Steeda showed off a sinister Boss 302 Laguna Seca, and this year they’ve followed that up with their Q450 Enforcer Mustang on display at the Nitto Tire booth. Part of the company’s turn-key vehicle lineup, the Q450 Enforcer is a rolling catalog of Steeda parts featuring the company’s shocks, springs, billet aluminum rear lower control arms, front and rear sway bars with billet ends, heavy duty billet upper strut…

Modular Muscle Design 2014 Ford Mustang

The super clean 2014 Mustang GT you see here is one of AmericanMuscle.com’s many project cars, built specifically to show off their line of Modular Muscle Design parts at SEMA. The online retailer has been showing the build-up of the project on their web site over the last couple weeks, and the finished product made its debut in Las Vegas in the Forgestar booth. Essentially a rolling parts MMD parts catalog, this 2014 Mustang features the line’s…

Vortech Superchargers Yellow Jacket Mustang

Last month we gave you a preview of Vortech Supercharger’s Yellow Jacket Mustang project, and now we’re happy to show you these live photos of the car from the SEMA show floor. The car gets its name from its Ferrari Yellow paint as well as the Vortech V-3 Si supercharger system under the hood that provides quite a sting. Yellow Jacket rides on iForged Icon 3-piece wheels wrapped with Falken Azenis FK453 tires, with Baer 6S 14-inch brakes residing…

NASCAR-powered 2008 Ford Mustang AIX Race Car

We first got wind of this incredible NASCAR-powered 2008 Ford Mustang race car built by The Mustang Shop of Auburn, WA back in May, and the sound of the 358 cubic inch V8 instantly won us over. Now we’re getting our first look at the car up close, as it’s on display at the Whiteline booth here at the SEMA Show. In addition to the ex-Mark Martin Roush/Yates V8 engine under the hood, this Mustang race car also features a host of other components necessary…

ACCEL Ignition’s 2011 Ford Mustang

ACCEL Ignition had a monster of a Mustang in their booth at SEMA this year to show off some of the company’s new products. The car features ACCEL’s “Super Coil” ignition coils for the Coyote 5.0L V8 as well as their voltage booster and a set of custom coil covers. There were plenty of parts from other companies as well, though, starting with a Roush supercharger system paired with a Ford Racing Cobra Jet throttle body and a JLT carbon fiber intake. With…

TMI Products 2005 Ford Mustang

It’s rare to see 2005-2009 Mustangs at SEMA now that the older body style is a few years old, but that didn’t stop TMI Products from showing off this slick-looking 2005 Mustang GT in their booth this year. It didn’t feel the least bit out of place with its matte blue and gray wrap accented by the Trufiber carbon fiber hood and front splitter as well as the graphite Vossen wheels. The car also features a Flowmaster exhaust system, SSBC brakes, Air Lift suspension…

Coyote-Powered Classic Recreations Shelby GT500CR

Last year at SEMA Classic Recreations showed off a right-hand-drive version of their Shelby GT500CR, and this year they’ve followed that up with a version powered by a Ford Racing Coyote 5.0L crate engine. The company plans to offer the engine, produces 490 horsepower and 429 lb-ft torque, as an alternative option on the GT500CR as an alternative to the vintage 427ci crate engine. “If you like the graceful drivability of a modern GT500, but prefer the…

Larry Gareffa’s Electric 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback

We passed right by this fairly inconspicuous 1965 Mustang Fastback on display at the SEMA Show quite a few times before taking a closer look, and we’re definitely glad we did. A look under the hood reveals…well…not what you’d expect. You see, the owner, Larry Gareffa, has converted the ’65 Fastback to electric power. Don’t worry – he didn’t yank out a perfectly good V8 to do the conversion, as the car didn’t have an engine when he took possession of it…

Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords Hypersilver Mustang

The good folks over at Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords magazine have been around for 25 years, and to celebrate the anniversary they’ve built this Mustang nicknamed ‘Hypersilver’ that made its debut at SEMA. Based off a 1988 Mustang GT, Hypersilver is one of the cleanest Fox Body Mustangs we’ve ever seen. Editor-in-Chief Evan Smith tells us he tried to put together the best of what the aftermarket had to offer without going too over the top, and we…

Roush Pirelli World Challenge Race Car

Roush World Challenge Mustang Race CarThe Roush Performance road racing team has announced that it will be switching to the Pirelli World Challenge series GTS class for the 2014 season with Jack Roush Jr. in the driver’s seat. The team has competed in Grand-Am’s Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge since 2009, finishing second overall in the standings in 2011. “We’ve had some great success racing in Grand-Am, with 10 victories, and 24 podiums,” says Jack Roush Jr. “Racing in…

Edelbrock 75th Anniversary 2013 Ford Mustang GT

Way back in March we told you about a giveaway being put on by Edelbrock and Powerblock TV, with the winner being given a modified 2013 Ford Mustang GT and a trip to the SEMA Show as Vic Edlebrock’s personal guests. That time has come, and our congratulations go out to Lonnie and Lorraine Hammock of Nevada for being the lucky recipients of the Race Red Mustang. The keys were handed over at the Ford display at the SEMA on Thursday…

Hotchkis Bullitt Chase Scene Display

One of the SEMA display we were most looking forward to seeing was from Hotchkis, who planned on recreating the famous chase scene from the movie Bullitt. The suspension and chassis specialists didn’t disappoint, with a Highland Green Fastback and a black Dodge Charger on display, showing off the company’s new wares with San Francisco’s hilly streets as a backdrop. The Mustang Fastback (a ’67 model made to look like the ’68 used in…

MagnaFlow Mustang Shorty Headers

MagnaFlow has previously only built exhaust headers for race or custom applications, but that’s now changed as the company announced at SEMA this week that they will be offering a new line of 50-state legal shorty headers for late model muscle cars including the Ford Mustang. The headers feature stainless steel construction, a titanium ceramic coating, tuned-length 1.75-inch tubing, welded straight collectors and all gaskets and hardware…

TMI Ford Mustang Sport XR Seats

TMI Products of Corona, CA debuted several new products at this year’s SEMA Show, most notably their new Sport XR seats for the 2005+ Ford Mustang. The company uses the Mustang’s stock seat frame as a base, headrest and all, and sculpts the new seat over it, finishing the new look with color contrasting French-seam stitching, suede inserts with bolsters, perforated insert material and stainless steel grommets available in polished or black oxide finishes. The…

An upgraded version of the supercharger package originally introduced at SEMA in 2008, the Stage 2 systems feature a competition air intake kit, smaller pulley, injectors (if required), fuel pump (if required) and a custom tune. For those Mustang owners…

K&N Blackhawk Air Induction System

Part #71-3527, the intake system features black powder coated aluminum tubing, a heat shield, a washable and resuable Dryflow air filter and all necessary hardware for installation. The filter itself can go up to 100,000 miles between cleanings and doesn’t require any oil. The intake can be installed with basic hand tools and…

Ford Mustang named hottest car of 2013 SEMA Show

The Ford Mustang is officially the “Hottest Car” at the 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show. The award recognizes the most popular vehicles SEMA members feature in their displays at the organization’s week-long trade show in Las Vegas. Before this year’s show opened, SEMA officials walked the floor of the giant aftermarket expo and counted the number of new 2013 and 2014 cars and trucks exhibited in booths. More Ford Mustangs…
