Roush’s supercharger system for the 2011+ Mustang’s 5.0L V8 offers an impressive 540 horsepower and 465 lb-ft torque, an improvement of 128 horsepower and 75 lb-ft torque compared to the stock figures. The 2.3-liter TVS supercharger isn’t nearly tapped out at that point, though, leaving room for tuners to step in and increase the boost. That’s where Indiana-based Brenspeed comes in. ProCharger has an impressive lineup of supercharger systems for the current Mustang lineup, from the HO, Stage II and cog race systems for the 5.0-liter V8 to the supercharger for the 3.7-liter V6. Last weekend’s Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race at Barber Motorsports last week wasn’t a great one for the Ford Mustang. Despite dominating the race in previous years and having no less than a dozen examples in the field, the Mustang teams couldn’t get an ounce of luck throughout the race weekend. For its season finale, the Fox television show Alcatraz filmed an elaborate reenactment of the famous car chase scene in the 1968 movie Bullitt. While the Alcatraz version undoubtedly has its differences, one being that the star of the chase is a Deep Impact Blue 2013 Mustang GT rather than a Highland Green 1968 Mustang Fastback, many of the same San Francisco streets and camera angles originally used in Bullitt are featured in the new chase scene.
