1968 Shelby GT500

The 1968 Shelby GT500 may not be as famous as the 1967 or as desirable as the KR model, but a clean example still commands a premium price tag. This was the case with this 1968 GT500 that was sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Orange County this weekend. Finished in rare Sunlit Gold, the car recently underwent a rotisserie restoration and comes with the original sales invoice, a complete Marti report and a full build sheet from the restoration. The final selling price of $137,500 – fair market value – made it the second most expensive Mustang in the auction.
