The No. 61 Roush Performance Ford Mustang Boss 302R gave Ford its second victory of the year in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge by taking the checkered flag at the Bosch Engineering 200 at Virginia International Raceway this past weekend. The Roush team qualified fifth, and Johnson took the lead from defending Grand Sport champ Charles Espenlaub with 15 minutes remaining in the two-hour, 30-minute event. While it didn’t manage to capture the win, the Mustang Boss 302R run by Multimatic Motorsports had a great showing at the Grand-Am 200 last month at Daytona Speedway. Drivers Joe Foster and Scott Maxwell placed second, and could have possibly been atop the podium if not for a slow pit stop.

Fighting tooth and nail for most of the race and much as was the case in 2010, a Ford Mustang would doggedly fight with a BMW for first place for much of Friday’s Continental Tires Sports Car Challenge’s Grand-Am 200.
